Why Does a Wireless Charger Need a Plug-and-Unplug Test?
Plug-and-unplug testing verifies that a wireless charger's USB-C port can withstand repeated connection and disconnection while maintaining reliable performance.

Why Does a Wireless Charger Need a Plug-and-Unplug Test?
Plug-and-unplug testing evaluates the mechanical durability and reliability of a wireless charger's USB-C connection during repeated use. It helps ensure the charging port remains secure and functional throughout the product's service life.
Why Is Plug-and-Unplug Testing Important?
Wireless chargers are frequently connected and disconnected from power. Repeated insertion and removal can cause connector wear, looseness, or unstable charging.
The test helps verify:
- USB-C connector durability
- Stable connection after repeated use
- Mechanical strength of the charging port
- Consistent insertion and removal performance
- Long-term product reliability
How Do We Perform the Test?
Test Condition: Room Temperature
The sample is fixed on a plug-and-unplug testing machine, with the USB-C cable and product kept at the same horizontal level.
Test parameters:
- Insertion force: 20N
- Withdrawal force: 6N
- Speed: 25 ± 3 mm/min
- Total cycles: 5,000
- Forward/reverse insertion: 2,500 cycles each
The test equipment automatically performs repeated insertion and removal according to the specified parameters.
What Makes the Test Qualified?
After 5,000 insertion and removal cycles, the USB-C connection should remain mechanically stable and functional, with the measured insertion force meeting the specified requirement.
Test Result: PASS
The sample completed 5,000 cycles of forward and reverse insertion testing, with an insertion force of ≥10N, and passed the test.
